Bank Decontamination Technician

We are now inviting applications for the post of Decontamination Technician. This is a Bank role and is based at Ramsay Sterile Services North West, Preston.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals who have already worked within the field of Decontamination of re-usable medical devices for at least 2 years, or who have completed a recognised decontamination course (NVQ/TVQ/Technical Certificate).

• Relevant experience as a decontamination technician within a health care setting

• Sound written and verbal communication skills 

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required 

• Good computer skills (MS Office package) 

• Flexibility and adaptability 

• Demonstrated customer service skills

• Willingness to work the occasional night shift once competence is achieved

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing the full decontamination cycle on re-usable medical devices (surgical instruments) to the highest of standards, in line within all Ramsay policies and procedures

• Participate fully in quality control processes ensuring procedures and documentation is completed accurately at all times

What is a Bank contract:

A Bank contract at Ramsay Health Care UK is a flexible employment agreement where you are not committed to a set number of hours per week. Instead, you work on an ad-hoc basis, filling in shifts that we have available in our hospitals. A Bank contract is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility, as it allows you to choose shifts that fit your availability, leaving you with a greater work-life balance. Bank contracts are also a fantastic way to secure additional income alongside other contracted work. Our Bank staff play a crucial role in maintaining service levels during peak times or staff shortages, ensuring that patient care remains uninterrupted

They have been open for the past 11 years and service 9 Ramsay hospitals in their regions.
