Job Description

Job Title: UX/UI Designer

Location: Boston MA - Hybrid (3 days onsite/ 2 days remote)

Business Group and Project:

We are building a web application framework to deliver a Gen AI tool for investment research. This role involves leading the design and implementation of the web app, with input ranging from aesthetics to architecture.

Candidate Value Proposition:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on strategically important projects within the firm. The goal is to deliver immediate value and secure long-term funding to build out the roadmap. While there is potential for full-time conversion, it is not guaranteed. This role offers valuable experience and exposure.

Typical Day in Role:

  • Support and maintain existing applications and Streamlit.
  • Deliver incremental enhancements in Streamlit.
  • Evaluate and propose future state stacks based on user needs and constraints.
  • Lead the team in design thinking with respect to user experience design.

Candidate Requirements/Must-Have Skills:

  1. 5-8+ years of UX Design : Provide streamlined experiences for users on an internal platform critical to their job. Understand investment analyst workflows and propose an extendable platform to support their work.
  2. Front-End Web Application Experience : Proficient in Angular, React, etc.
  3. Component Design and Implementation : Design and implement reusable and modular components using Angular.
  4. API Integration : Collaborate with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs.
  5. Code Reviews : Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
  6. Testing : Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the quality and reliability of the front-end codebase.
  7. RESTful APIs : Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating with backend services.
  8. Build Tools and Package Managers : Knowledge of front-end build tools and package managers.
  9. Version Control Systems : Experience with version control systems (GIT).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  1. Experience with Java frameworks and CICD processes.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field required.
