About the Role
A leading food manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineering Scientist to drive new product innovation, packaging optimization, and material testing within the R&D division. This role will focus on packaging research, testing, validation, and compliance, ensuring that all packaging solutions meet food safety, sustainability, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in food packaging R&D and will work closely with HQ teams in Korea to develop cutting-edge packaging solutions.
What You Will Be Doing
• Lead new packaging R&D projects focused on material innovation, testing, and process optimization.
• Conduct analytical testing and validation to improve packaging durability, food safety, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with HQ teams in Korea, suppliers, and cross-functional teams (R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain).
• Oversee packaging commercialization efforts, ensuring cost-effective and high-performance solutions.
• Identify and qualify new packaging materials for performance, sustainability, and compliance.
• Maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ensure regulatory compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, and food safety standards.
• Stay updated on packaging sustainability trends, food safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Experience You Will Need
• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in packaging development, testing, and commercialization within the food industry.
• Hands-on expertise in packaging testing, validation, and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
• Bilingual in Korean (Required) – Must communicate effectively with HQ teams in Korea.
• Proficiency in MS Office, packaging testing software, and project tracking tools.
