Job Description

Registered Nurse, Womens Services at Community Medical Center summary:

As a Registered Nurse in Women's Services, you will provide specialized care for mothers and their newborns, utilizing your nursing skills to ensure safe and effective patient experiences. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, emphasizing patient advocacy, mentorship, and education. This role requires current RN licensure, relevant experience in Mother/Baby or OB settings, and a commitment to improving community health through compassionate care.

Status/FTE: FT / 0.8-1.0 FTE

Shift length: 12 hours

Start Time: 1900

Unit:  Mother/Baby

Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): 3-12 hour shifts weekly, every third weekend and rotating holidays.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Current state RN license
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • NRP and STABLE upon hire
  • One (1) to two (2) years of Mother/Baby and/or OB experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • BSN Preferred
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of Mother/Baby or OB experience
  • Certification in a maternal specialty (Inpatient OB, Maternal Newborn Nursing)

Additional Information/Department information: The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer. Provides expert care and education to patients in the clinical setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. The RN is knowledgeable in clinical nursing procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents. Manages patient loads in assigned timelines.
