We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Nursing Home Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will ensure that all areas of the nursing home are sanitized, well-organized, and free from any safety hazards. This role is essential to maintaining the health, dignity, and comfort of our residents while supporting a positive and professional atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean and disinfect all common areas, including hallways, dining rooms, bathrooms, lounges, and staff areas, following health and safety standards.
- Resident Rooms: Clean and sanitize resident rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, and making beds.
- Waste Disposal: Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in accordance with regulations, including proper handling of hazardous or biohazardous materials.
- Floor Care: Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors in all areas of the facility, ensuring that floors are clean and safe for residents and staff.
- Laundry Services: Assist with laundry duties, including washing, folding, and delivering linens, towels, and resident clothing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and report cleaning supplies, equipment, and linen stock to ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed according to safety and infection control standards, and report any safety concerns or issues to management immediately.
- Resident Interaction: Maintain a respectful and compassionate approach when working around residents, ensuring their comfort and privacy at all times.
- Adherence to Schedules: Follow assigned cleaning schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed within designated times.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other nursing home staff, including nurses, maintenance, and administration, to ensure a positive and efficient working environment.

Requirements:
To be considered for the position of Nursing Home Housekeeper, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial work, or healthcare environment is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to follow cleaning and safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude toward residents.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
- Ideal candidates are bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time or part-time positions available.
- May require working weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Some positions may require physical labor, including lifting and moving items.
- Part time position at 26 hours per week with the occasional option to cover additional shifts.
- Paid training is provided before starting job.

Additional Requirements: - Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Must provide updated medical physical, TB test, and must be up to date on COVID-19 vaccines.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a background check in accordance with facility policies.
