About the Role
The Company is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Board of Directors. Board Members play a crucial role in providing mission-based leadership, strategic governance, and oversight. This includes serving as trusted advisors to the Executive Director, reviewing and approving the organization's strategic plan, and ensuring that the company's impact and performance are regularly evaluated. Board Members are also responsible for meeting legal and fiduciary obligations, contributing to the annual performance evaluation of the Executive Director, and actively participating in committees and special assignments. A key aspect of the role is to represent the company to stakeholders and to ensure a diverse and inclusive board and staff that reflects the communities served. Ideal candidates for the Board of Directors will have a strong professional background, with experience in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. A commitment to the company's mission and an understanding of its beneficiaries are essential. The role requires individuals with diplomatic skills, the ability to cultivate relationships, and a passion for improving the lives of the company's beneficiaries. Board Members are expected to consider the company a philanthropic priority and make annual contributions that reflect this commitment. Service on the Board is voluntary and without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs related to Board duties.
