About the Role
The Company is seeking a Board Member with a strong background in one or more of the following areas: architecture, history, preservation, archiving, real estate, or code and building inspection. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the organization's mission to preserve cultural assets and promote an inclusive understanding of community, identity, and place. This is a unique opportunity to contribute intellectual capital, expertise in programming development, and support fundraising efforts. The Board Member will be involved in policy and fiduciary oversight, with a focus on the exciting initiative of designating Wilkinsburg as a Heritage District. Applicants for the Board Member position at the company should be prepared to offer their skills and experiences in the specified areas. The role is pivotal at this time, as the organization is at a crossroads and requires additional support to study and implement the Heritage District designation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the preservation of cultural heritage and have a strong commitment to the values of the community. Responsibilities include attending Board meetings, which may be held via Zoom, and providing annual board donations based on income. Physical attendance at events is on an as-needed basis.
