Role Overview :
This position is responsible for administering and overseeing Tall Structure Regulation as well as noise sensitive permitting as it relates to Indiana Code for public-use facilities. This position will oversee the early coordination process and respond on behalf of the Office of Aviation as it relates to any state construction project and will file permits through the FAA once the project is reviewed. The aviation program manager role will also be in charge of requesting and documenting based aircraft from all airports in the state. This will be performed in conjunction with the Indiana Department of Revenue (IDOR) as well as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position will also require that the applicant holds an FAA Part 107 small UAS certificate, which will be utilized during the course of employment. This role will be instrumental in helping to document UAS operations throughout the state while utilizing the INDOT UAS CONOP's that were recently completed. The aviation program manager will do so through the UAS WebTool that was created. This position shall be familiar with Pix4D as well as ArcGIS in order to help the Office of Aviation complete missions pertaining to mapping. The successful applicant will also be involved with the planning efforts from the Indiana State Aviation System Plan (ISASP) update as well as the Airport Economic Impact Study (AEIS) update.
Salary :
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $59,800.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

This position is located in INDOT’s Central Office, Indianapolis.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
